Daytona Beach has 23 miles of hard-packed sand, and it’s permitted in some areas for people to drive on the beach in some specific areas. Because of that natural attribute, Daytona Beach has become a type of mecca for motorsports.

It was the land of the first inhabitants, the Timucuan Indians, a large nation that one day walked over the same sands, but was exterminated by “civilization” and diseases in the 18th century.
